City Limit has been together since 2016, adding keyboardist Neil Gillespie in 2017 , bassist Allen Halcomb and Drummer Buddy Cline in 2021. We are a regional band playing in mostly East Tennessee and surrounding states. We play a mixture of about 50% Classic Rock and Bob Seger style Rock & Roll (much from the 80's), 20% R&B, 20% Soul and 10% contemporary hits like Uptown Funk and Locked out of Heaven by Bruno Mars.

Neil Gillespie | Neil Gillespie, Keyboards & Backing Vocals Neil is City Limit’s 2-handed secret weapon. Well versed in Jazz, Rock, Funk, Soul, Blues and R&B, Neil produces a kaleidoscope of sounds from his array of electronic keyboards. From soulful Hammond B3 sounds and slick piano to searing synths, soothing strings, crisp horn sections and special effects, audiences hear what he’s doing but don’t expect it’s coming from the keyboards. Overdubs on a click track? Not for Neil. He does it all live. Horns or strings simultaneously with piano or clavinet? Not a problem. Clinton Young | Clinton Young is the consummate entertainer. The ever energetic lead singer loves to mix with audiences by going out to the dance floor and to tables to serenade couples at every venue. Clinton was born into a musical family. His Dad played in a 15-piece orchestra at the age of 16, moving on to play with many more until the late 60's. Clinton's Mom was also was very talented singer/pianist ... it was a natural progression for Clinton. When asked about degrees, Clinton said, "I have masters in rhythm a minor in soul and a PHD in the blues!" In addition to his Mom & Dad, Clinton's greatest influences come from Bob Seger, Delbert McClinton, and Ray Charles. Dave Eckman | Sax man "super" Dave Eckman lights up an audience with his energetic, funky jazzy sound. Dave plays in a variety of acts in East Tennessee including Soulfinger and Alien Love Charm. Dave Eckman is a performing artist for the Antigua Winds Saxophone company. With influences from great saxophonists like Marc Russo and Lenny Pickett in his playing, he is one of the most in-demand sax players in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dave also has a background in classical music. He's performed works by Ibert, Milhaud, Maurice, Glazounov, and others with various symphonies across Florida. He has been playing the saxophone for more than 30 years and holds a bachelor's degree in music from the University of South Florida. His classical instructor was James Bishop.
